Notes: A MuckRock public records request filed with the Oregon Department of Aviation seeking (1) all drone registration and renewal records between public bodies and the Department of Aviation, (2) an electronic copy of the full unmanned aircraft systems data registry under ORS 837.360(2)(a), and (3) annual usage reports filed by state agencies under ORS 837.360(7)(a), covering January 1, 2020 to January 1, 2023. The requester followed up in 2025 after not receiving a response to the October 2024 filing. This is a template of the kind of statewide drone-registry request BPA could file or reference for Bend/Deschutes County comparative research; the underlying registry, if obtained, would show which Oregon public bodies (including local police/sheriff’s departments) have registered UAS.
